Single Post Template leads to 404 page [FIXED] – Blog Update

Date posted: May 26, 2025

I ran into a problem today that took me an hour to figure out how to fix. The Single Post Template I set up for Films and Books no longer works when I checked it again today, as I’m planning to add a suggestion form to it. When I navigate to the single page for a film or book, it leads to the default BricksBuilder 404 template, “Whoops, that page is gone.”

I tried deactivating and resetting the conditions for every archive and single-page template I’ve set up, and I found it very strange since all my conditions were set correctly and had worked properly before. I thought there might be a problem with the database or a BricksBuilder bug, as I have changed the URL of the template a couple of times in the past.

The 404 page when I navigate to the page of a film or movies in the watching and reading page.

Just when I was about to call it a day and get back to it some other time, I came across this post on the BricksBuilder forum with this helpful comment:

I followed the instructions and gave it a try, and voilà, the Single Post Template for the films and movies worked properly again. I was so sure this was a BricksBuilder problem and not a WordPress issue, and I couldn’t believe that simply saving the preferences in Settings > Permalinks again would fix the issue.

The journey continues!
