Recovering from the ankle sprain

Date posted: July 29, 2025

I accidentally sprained my ankle during conditioning training at Jiu-Jitsu practice yesterday. I could barely put any weight on my ankles when I got out of bed this morning. I felt the black Salonpas patch with diclofenac I applied overnight did little to no help. There was a bit of swelling, so I took the day to rest, eat, and drink lots of water. I followed the RICE protocol—Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. The pain reduced as the day went on. I took some diclofenac and alphachymotrypsin to reduce the inflammation and swelling. It’s nice to have a day without training, sitting back and taking care of myself.

If everything goes well, I might be able to go back to training on Thursday. I’m applying the regular Salonpas when I go to bed tonight.
