My stategy for getting client’s approval

Date posted: July 12, 2025

While working as a creative, there’s always the part where you must get the client’s approval, which determines whether there’s feedback or criticism, whether the project will move forward, or if you get paid. Presenting your work the right way is key.

My tip is to not just send the client the work you’ve done and expect them to understand and approve it right away. Be there to walk them through your thought and design process, explaining how this product or design has followed the guidelines and parameters you and the client have set out. I’ll try to do this as often as I can when working on projects with my clients, whether by making a short video call, scheduling a video meeting, or meeting them over coffee. From there, you can gauge the client’s reaction and emotions toward your design. You can also discuss any issues directly and answer any questions that might arise.

Presenting your work is as important—or even more important—than actually doing your work.
