It’s been a while since I ran besides doing races. My legs got the running itch today, and I decided to go on a 30-minute recovery run, thinking I should do one after the 21K I did two weeks ago. Maybe the urge comes from my daily intake of supplements, or I’m getting used to the activity I’m doing daily with Jiu-Jitsu.
I laced up my Skechers and went to the nearby park, despite it already being 9:15 p.m. The evening weather was cool and inviting, and people were starting to go home, so the park was less crowded. After 30 minutes of running, I felt strong, my breathing was steady and decided to keep going. The park was closing, and by the time I was done, I was the only one there—the staff had ended their shift, and the night-shift security guard yelled behind me as I ran past him, telling me to go home. I left the park feeling refreshed and accomplished after finishing 10K. Running feels good, and this run reminds me to run more and more often.

I hope I can get to sleep soon with all the dopamine and adrenaline! 🙂
