Since I’ve focused more on Jiu-Jitsu recently, there were only two recovery runs between my previous race in June and today’s race. Still, I had a great run, though I felt I exerted more energy than usual. I met up with a lot of friends here during and after the race; the vibe was great. This was also the first race I did at District 7, instead of the usual route at Metropole Thủ Thiêm. I prefer this one better, maybe because it’s different and new. There were a lot of trees and shades, and the route had fewer hills and big bridges compared to the Metropole ones, though we had to cut through some traffic a couple of times. The weather was also in favor of today’s race.
I stayed back after the race to talk and take some pictures with friends. The pictures taken by the organizers were pretty good too. I love the finisher t-shirt from Adidas as well as the medal. Being able to reconnect and hang out with so many familiar faces during this run brought me a lot of joy and meaning to my day. I feel grateful to still be able to run—I fell in love with running all over again.

This was also my first run with the Shokz OpenSwim Pro, which I purchased earlier this week. It’s a great investment, and I would highly recommend it if you’re an active person and do sports frequently. It’s great to run without having something in my ear while still being able to listen to music. I don’t have to worry about sweat or having it fall off during my run. The physical button is a great plus, since the touch controls on most wireless earbuds are finicky, especially if your fingers are wet. I’m looking forward to my future runs with the Shokz and might even reintroduce swimming into my weekly workout schedule.
Here are some pictures taken from today’s race:
