First week of August review

Date posted: August 9, 2025

It’s Saturday, closing in on the end of the week and the first month of August. Time has flown by so fast, and it’s basically almost the end of 2025 already. I want to get some of my thoughts out as a sort of personal review for the first week of August.

I’ve been training harder and more consistently in Jiu-Jitsu, although I feel that my cardio is still a bit down since I’m also trying to lose weight. The weight loss journey is also going well—I went down to around 80 kilograms the last time I stepped on the scale after practice. I’ve stuck to my meal prep and tried not to eat past 6 p.m. whenever I can, though I did make a few exceptions when hanging out with my wife or family. I do want to add some variety to my training, like long-distance running to train for a marathon, which I’m planning to do at the end of the year, as well as swimming. I increased my time in the ice bath to five minutes for two rounds, totaling 10 minutes. I’m looking to improve next week.

My web design business is going steadily. I’m building a new client project with Bricks and ready to hand it over for review tomorrow, wrapping up the content and putting on the final touches within the next week, leaving some space to learn (or relearn) things as well as to design and build my wedding website for RSVP.

I want to get back to my habits of reading and meditating next week. Sleeping earlier is also a goal—so far this year, I rarely go to bed before midnight.
