It was a long day with lots of driving. The wedding is coming up, so there’s a lot of invisible work that my wife and I need to tend to. Being able to find and commit to a run after a day of driving around the city running errands is a blessing. I’m proud to have started as well as finished the run, despite having procrastinated and dreaded working out, drenched in sweat and exhaustion while I could have stayed home studying something or playing Witcher 3 on my laptop. The habit checklist has been a motivation for me to keep myself proactive by not letting myself off the streak two days in a row.
Run Details and Future Plans
I started the run at 9 PM. I ran 5.92 km in 43 minutes, with an average pace of 7:13 per km and an average heart rate of 155 bpm. It was a recovery, relaxing-type run from my training plan in Nike Run Club. The next session on the plan is a long run of 25 km, which I’ve been dreading and shying away from. I might do that after the wedding—maybe I’ll put in a 10 km before then to build up my confidence a bit. It’s been a while since I committed to such a distance.
