’ve been playing Dave the Diver on my laptop for the past couple of days and have been enjoying it so far. It has been a while since I’ve enjoyed playing a game, as most games with great stories require some investment of time and effort from the players. So, I’m putting Ready or Not and Blasphemous on hold to enjoy some fishing with harpoons and guns.
Dave the Diver has a simple storyline: you play as Dave, diving into the sea to catch fish during the day and serving as a waiter at your sushi restaurant at night. The premise is quite simple yet intriguing enough to hook you into the gameplay. You collect fish, upgrade your gear to dive deeper and catch bigger and stranger fish like sharks, tunas, and eels, explore the ocean with cool, playful music in the background, and build your menus to serve customers. There are other storylines and short missions from likable characters you meet along the way. Another reason I like this game is that you can play it in short sessions. I can open the game and go for a dive for 15 to 20 minutes to relax, then get back to work without sweating over a boss fight where I’ve died multiple times.
I highly recommend this game if you are a fan of Pokémon and Diner Dash. I’ve only put 4-5 hours into it so far and might update this post in the future after I finish the game (maybe).
