I had the pleasure of coming across a personal/portfolio website by Connel McCarthy, a designer, photographer, musician, and website builder. Truly a creative powerhouse. The website features a clean, modern design, great graphics, subtle micro-transitions, and micro-interactions. I especially like how the header menu works so smoothly.
The website also includes a blog with a nice layout. I love the article about his wedding, where Connel shares the process of designing and printing the wedding invitations, designing and building the RSVP website, and adding special functionality that allows visitors to contribute music to the playlist played at the wedding.

His website also features e-commerce functionality where Connel sells prints of the pictures he taken. The e-commerce site has a clean interface with filters and a quick view of products. The product page includes product details with a variation selector; when adding a product to the cart, the header menu animates to change into a quick view of the cart, reminding me of Apple’s Dynamic Island on the iPhone.

The website even includes a changelog detailing how it has evolved over the years since 2013. Truly inspirational! As a fellow web designer, I can appreciate the attention to detail, the effort, and the love that went into building the website. Connel is truly a creative powerhouse. His work inspires me to learn more about website animation as well as design.
