It’s been a while since I shared anything here (or on any platform, for that matter). I was in a bit of a slump after the Tet holiday, trying to figure out my schedule and daily routine. I’ve been finding a direction for my freelance web design business, but feeling overwhelmed with new AI tools; client outreach is still a point of friction I dread from time to time.
My usual habits are also out of whack, but I’m making the best of it, shifting them based on my priorities for the day. I’m practicing focusing more on myself and what I want to do, instead of being pulled away by unimportant errands or others’ emotional needs that require attention on a whim.
I’m improving my sleep schedule; I’m now getting ready for bed and ready to sleep by 11 pm. Yesterday marked a 3-day streak, which I’m celebrating (no big frosty cake, just confetti inside my head and a pat on the back). On days that I was able to get up early, I either go for a run or go to a coffee shop to work. I find that imagining I have a full-time job with a boss looking over my shoulder helps with my discipline. It helps me stick to office hours and a productive mindset. I’ve realized the flexibility of self-employment can be a trap (or a curse).
So, what’s next?
There’s a new version of the blog coming soon, focusing more on writing and removing most of the ‘reading’ and ‘watching’ aspects. The new blog will share more of my daily life, thoughts, lessons learned, and progress regarding business, design, AI, and SEO. I also want to incorporate more videos and images. There will be more brain-dumps and ideas. I will use this to review my notes, what I’ve read, and what I’ve studied in books or courses, including inspirations I find online regarding content creation and productivity. I want this to be a personal notebook that encapsulates how I think. It will be my ‘second brain’ shared with the public to encourage people to learn with me.
There are also a bunch of web design projects scheduled to launch throughout the year, both client work and personal passion projects. I will keep updating this blog until the new version rolls out. Stay tuned!
Thanks for reading!
