When your opponent is in the turtle position, squaring up to you, capture their head and arm with your hand, lifting their chin up to create a chin strap. Connect your hands together in a gable grip, making it tight, and bring the gable grip to their armpit (you should be able to see your gable grip). Your ear should stick to their lats or back. You can switch the gable grip to a figure 4 here (like the RNC) for tighter and stronger control.
The next step is to break their posture by removing their posting arm from the mat by rotating your body. Carry their trapped arm to the side and remove their post hand from the mat. Here, you can rotate to either position. Once their back touches the mat, you can set up the anaconda choke by keeping the figure 4 in place, still connecting your ear to their back. Don’t let them lie flat on the mat; their body should be to the side. To finish, squeeze in your figure-4, try to get the mount, utilize your leg to trap their leg or arm, and bridge into the choke with your chest.
Remember to prioritize control over submission.
