40 minutes run 161025 – Running Diary

Date posted: October 17, 2025

It’s been a long day where my usual routine has been a bit disrupted, so I decided to go for a run to clear my mind and reconnect with myself. I also wanted to test out the Coros heart rate monitor armband, which I ordered online after hearing some discussion that it could work with my Fenix 5. It feels comfortable and doesn’t intrude like the chest strap, so I’m hoping to use it to monitor my heart rate during my Jiu-Jitsu practice as well as my running.

I’m grateful for being able to run at the end of the day to check in with myself, to take stock of what I’ve done and let it go, to look back on what I’m proud of and happy about, and, most importantly, to see how I’m feeling from the perspective of a friend, a teammate, and a coach.

Run Details

I ran 6.37 km in around 45 minutes, with a pace of 7 minutes per km and an average heart rate of 149 bpm. My Achilles tendon was a bit sore during the run. I feel like the Crocs Inmotion Pacer doesn’t have enough support in the calves while running. Also, on bumpy roads, I can feel the rocks and potholes very clearly through the sole of my feet—the shoes are made with only rubber and plastic, after all.

Check back soon.
